Bill Belichick Shares First Review Of Patriots WR Nelson Agholor

Head coach Bill Belichick brought Nelson Agholor to New England for a reason. The New England Patriots signed the veteran wideout in free agency and it seems like he is a good fit for the team.

Agholor was brilliant with the Oakland Raiders last season. However, he struggled during his time with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Patriots gave him a two-year deal worth $22 million. Agholor looks good in training camp and left a good first impression. Belichick seems to like his veteran.

“Any time you work with somebody on a daily basis and on an individual basis you just learn a little bit more about their personality, their learning methods and what they’ve done before and how that relates to what they’re being asked to do now,” Belichick told reporters Wednesday morning. “And that’s different for each individual. It’s just building relationships like it is building a relationship with anybody else.

“He’s good to work with. He works hard. He’s very detailed and wants to be detailed. Wants to do things the way that they need to be done and be where the quarterback needs him to be and with the right timing and so forth. Just got a good skill set and has been able to play a couple of different positions for us as all the receivers have. We’ve moved them all around a little bit here in the spring and in training camp. We’ll just continue to do that.”

Bill Belichick to see more from Nelson Agholor

There’s one major challenge for Agholor at the moment. He has to develop a strong chemistry with Mac Jones and Cam Newton. The 2015 NFL MPV will start games in September, but Jones can easily steal his job.

Belichick is watching his quarterbacks compete and he will probably go with Newton in Week 1. Will Jones step in as a replacement in Week 2? The only thing fans can do is sit and wait. Belichick knows what’s best for the Patriots this season. He doesn’t need another losing record in the resume.
