Jared Dudley Heartfelt Message to LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are losing a valuable player and LeBron James is devastated. One of his former teammates will become an assistant coach. Yes, Jared Dudley heard all the comments his teammates made and decided to deliver a little message to LeBron, Anthony Davis, and pretty much everyone in the Lakers locker room.

Dudley only appeared in 54 games for the Lakers in the 2019-20 NBA season. However, he had a big role with the Lakers on their way to the top. Dudz helped his guys win the 17th title in Lakers history. LeBron and AD really liked him. He had a special bond with each and every teammate.

On Tuesday, Dudley agreed to become an assistant coach with the Dallas Mavericks. Former Lakers assistant Jason Kidd is the head coach and Dudley will be his assistant.

Jared Dudley has a message for LA

The former Lakers veteran is off to a fresh start. He took to Twitter to confirm his retirement and used the opportunity to thank the purple and gold for the great experience. Being a Laker sure means a thing and Dudley will always remember his time with the team.

“Man what a ride! 14 yr NBA career capped off by winning a NBA championship with the @Lakers! Just want to thank GOD for blessing me, also want to personally thank @KingJames @AntDavis23 @JeanieBuss and the Lakers organization, Without Bron and AD I don’t join LAL or (win a ring)”, Dudley wrote.

Right before Dudley’s announcement, LeBron took to Twitter to share his raw reaction. He couldn’t really help himself. One of his best teammates is going away. A big bite to swallow, right?

Dudley was averaging 7.3 points per game in his 14 seasons in the league. In 2020-21 NAB season, Dudz played in 12 games for LA and suffered a torn MCL. Everyone liked him, and he had a top spot in the Lakers locker room. Players needed him throughout the disappointing season.

It’s time for a fresh start. Dudley is off to something big this time. Being a coach seems like a good option right know. He knows the game. He has been around for a while. Let’s see how will things work for the newly-assigned coach.
