Report: Lakers Make Big Decision On Frank Vogel Future With Franchise

The Los Angeles Lakers made a decision on Frank Vogel and his future with the franchise. Vogel’s future was sort of hanging in the air and fans were pretty worried about it. Some thought that the head coach will part ways with the storied franchise.

Well, things took an expected turn for the skilled head coach. The Lakers signed him to an extension. Did you expect this development?

Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Rob Pelinka confirmed the signing. That’s pretty much everything we know about Vogel’s new deal.

Vogel is the 27th head coach in team history. He is the 23td in the Los Angeles era. He has a 94-49 regular season record in his short stint with the team.  Vogel went18-9 in the postseason. Leading the Lakers to a championship in Orlando is his greatest career accomplishment.

The Lakers will keep Frank Vogel around in the near future

In the 2019-2020 NBA season, the Lakers finished first in the Western Conference with a 52-19 record. They played 71 games earned the team its 24th Pacific Division title. Vogel became the Western Conference Coach of the Month honor for October/November after the 17-2 start to the regular season. The Lakers shot a NBA-leading 48.0 percent from the field and stacked 13 straight road victories. They tied for the third-best road streak all-time.

LA set a record by defeating 18 straight conference opponents away from home. In game six of the NBA Finals last season, Vogel’s team became the third team in the last 50 seasons to win a title in a wire-to-wire win. They led Jimmy Butler’s team by 36 points in the game.

Vogel led the Lakers to the NBA’s No.1 ranked defense last season. This is the third time in Vogel’s professional career that he has led his franchise to the No.1 ranking.

I guess Vogel learned his contract with all the accomplishment on the floor. He will probably lead the team to another franchise win next season.
