Russell Westbrook Delivers Brutal 2-word Response to Wizards GM About Possible Trade to Clippers

The Los Angeles Lakers pulled out a big trade this summer. They traded for an excellent player and yes, Frank Vogel will be working with a Big 3 in the upcoming season. Russell Westbrook left the Washington Wizards, but their GM made people talk about another potential trade.

Truth is, Russ wasn’t the one asking for a trade. The Lakers really wanted him and they got him. Many would agree that Westbrook is the right player to join the team. He will be the superstar behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The trio is set to make a big damage on the basketball floor in the 2021-22 NBA season.

Russell Westbrook had a special demand for his Wizards GM

As you may be guessing, Broddie wanted to play with the Lakers. If this deal didn’t happen, Russell would have been happy with his role in Washington. He did have one major demand. It wasn’t really a demand. Westbrook wanted to leave the Wizards under one condition. The Los Angeles Clippers were never an option. He didn’t want to play with their team. Playing alongside Chris Paul and Kawhi Leonard was never a thing for the NBA veteran. Playing alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis is a completely different thing.

“I really have the set the record straight on that,” Sheppard said. “Russell never actually asked to move on, he just said ‘If I can get to the Lakers, it’s something I’d love to do. If not, I’ll be back here’. I said, ‘What about the Clippers?’ he said, ‘Hell no’.

The Lakers are getting ready for another big season and Westbrook will have a really big role on the floor. The team got him for a reason and everyone has high expectations from him. Westbrook has high expectations from himself, too. He joined the Lakers for a reason. It was a really big reason. The newly-added player would really want to win a ring with the Lakers. We can definitely see him celebrate a championship win with LeBron and AD. Let’s see what happens in the upcoming season. It’s showtime!
