Coach Bill Belichick Responds To Odell Beckham Jr Rumors

Coach Bill Belichick has responded to Odell Beckham Jr. and the rumours that the New England Patriots might be interested in picking him up off the market. The Cleveland Browns have officially gotten rid of Odell Beckham Jr and many fans think the Patriots are going to be his new home. The Patriots seem to be improving as the season progresses but it is clear that they still need a play maker to get down the field.

It sounds like there might be some interest in the rumours, at least according to Bill Belichick himself.

“We’ve done that before. We brought in (Aqib) Talib in the middle of the season,” Belichick said. “You have to evaluate any situation. I don’t know any specifics to talk about. We’d do anything we could to help our football team. We brought in James Harrison with one game to go in the season.”

All of this comes after a rocky time in Cleveland in which Odell Beckham and QB Baker Mayfield failed to get anything going.

“I can’t exactly speculate exactly as to who he was speaking on behalf of. We think a lot of it comes from his father’s perspective. I think you know obviously naturally he wants his son to succeed. And I can’t blame him for that. I want Odell to succeed. That is where we were or at least so I thought. That is all I really have about that one.”

“He is extremely close with Odell. Like I said earlier, we all want to see O succeed. There is no doubt about that. We are just going to take it one day at a time. We did not get into too many details because I do not want to draw that line in between them at all. That is not what I am trying to do. Jarvis wants to win just as badly as I do. Those are the types of guys and the types of focus that we need to have right now.”

What do you think? Will he join the Patriots?
