Report: Lakers Downgrade Anthony Davis’ Status For Game vs. Knicks

LeBron James will miss the game against the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden. Well, he may not be the only superstar to miss this game. The NBA suspended the four-time NBA champion for one game. Anthony Davis may not suit up for the game against the Knicks as well. Lakers players need their leaders on the floor and Davis’ potential absence makes things a little difficult for everyone.

The big man showed flu-like symptoms and he doesn’t have COVID-19. It’s officially flu season and everyone can catch it. We are relieved to hear that Davis’ health issues have nothing to do with coronavirus.

Anthony Davis may not miss the game against the Knicks

AD won’t go through the mandatory exclusion period. He won’t have long-term effects of COVID-19, too. There isn’t much room for concern at the moment.

Playing without LeBron and Davis will be a big blow for the Lakers. Russell Westbrook can lead the team on his own and his stats are cool. He will have to try extra hard to make things work for the purple and gold. Veteran Carmelo Anthony will see heavier load in the upcoming game. AD will try to answer his call, but it may be too much to ask right now. NBA experts expect to see more from DeAndre Jordan and Dwight Howard. The latter was great off the bench in limited action, but Jordan is doing an excellent job as well. Westbrook wants to get the best of his teammates and this is one of his greatest skills. In other words, the Lakers have a chance to do something great without LeBron and AD on the floor.

Davis is doing an excellent job with the team this season. He is averaging 24.6 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.3 blocks per game while shooting 52.2 percent from the field. LA has a 9-9 record at this point and players should elevate their game to make the first round of the series.

LeBron will return to the floor following his suspension, and players should do well without him in the upcoming game.
