Two Patriots Starters’ Statuses Unclear Ahead Of Colts Matchup

The New England Patriots have a seven-game winning stretch and things look really good for the team. The Indianapolis Colts are next on the list and we have a few good reasons to believe that the Patriots will win this one as well. According to latest reports, the Patriots may be without two starters for the game vs Colts.

Running back Damien Harris and safety Adrian Phillips left the win over the Bills due to a hamstring and knee injury, respectively. The team didn’t provide much info on their current condition. They will have to make a decision in the next couple of days. Head coach Bill Belichick offered a short response about the players.

“We haven’t done anything since (the Bills game),” Belichick said in Monday’s video conference, “so we’ll see how things are progressing when we get out there.”

Beating the Bills was great motivation for the team. New England players had a bye week and everyone used the free time to rest and prepare for the upcoming game. Players have their first practice on Tuesday and we will probably have more information on Harris’ status.

Patriots starters may play against the Colts on Saturday

Playing without both Philips and Harris will affect the team’s chances to win the next few games. Both players have a spectacular season and a key role with the Patriots.

Harris was brilliant in 2020 and he is definitely awesome in 2021. The veteran has 754 rushing yards and nine touchdowns this season which is a team-high. Phillips has 81.8% of the defensive snaps in 2021 and four interceptions.

Maybe we don’t have a reason to be worried at this point. Both Harris and Phillips look good and there haven’t been any major concern about their health. Hopefully, both stars will see action on Saturday.

Belichick is an optimist and he always has a backup plan. This will be the case for the final stretch of the 2021 regular season. The Patriots are a dominant force in the division and they have a chance to make the Super Bowl this year. Stephen A. Smith would love to seem them challenge the Dallas Cowboys.
