Bill Belichick Squashes Notion About Coaching Future

The New England Patriots finished their 2021 season with a loss. A lot of fans asked questions about head coach Bill Belichick and his coaching future. We don’t know why people would ever talk about Belichick’s retirement. This man is the best head coach in the NFL and he still has so much to offer.

Belichick lost Tom Brady to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and missed the chance to win the Super Bowl for two straight seasons. Cam Newton was his starter in 2020. He had a good running game, but the team didn’t want to give him another chance. Rookie quarterback Mac Jones beat Jones in the quarterback competition and won the job. In his first season with the Patriots, Jones did a decent job. He was great but it wasn’t enough for the Patriots to win the wild-card game. New England suffered a big loss to the Buffalo Bills, and someone thought it would be nice to bring up Belichick’s retirement.

Bill Belichick is sure about his coaching future

First, reporters asked him if he considers coming back in 2022. The Patriots head coach provided a positive response. It wasn’t enough and Belichick got the same question on Monday.

“Look, I never said any of that. So, that’s not what it is,” Belichick said on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show.” “I was asked a question and I gave an answer. Nobody ever said it was year-to-year or something else, I never said that. I enjoy the job that I have and try to do everything I can to help the team. That’s what I’ve always done and that’s what I’ll continue to do.”

Belichick has great plans for his future. He has a great building block in Jones. Fixing the defense is a priority for the team. Jones is the best quarterback option for the Patriots. Let’s see if he is able to win a Super Bowl in his second year with the Patriots. He has great connection with other Patriots players. Their chemistry led to a lot of great games this season.
