LeBron James, Lakers Receive Brutal Kendrick Nunn News Amid Injury Recovery

The Los Angeles Lakers aren’t 100% at the moment as they still work without some of the injured players. Injuries and COVID plagued the team, leaving Frank Vogel with a lot of empty roster spots. Kendrick Nunn has yet to make his debut with the Lakers, and unfortunately, his injury recovery doesn’t go well. Nunn is a talented player and the Lakers got him for a reason. LeBron James had great expectations from the player. Well, he won’t share the court with Nunn in the near future.

Vogel provided an update on his player. According to the head coach, “Kendrick actually suffered a setback.” The Lakers head coach explained that “the ramped-up activity” didn’t have a positive impact on his knee.

Kendrick Nunn won’t join Lakers teammates now, his injury recovery didn’t go well

The Lakers have “no firm timeline” on when the talented player will join the lineup. This is not an ideal scenario for the purple and gold.

Vogel said that “bone bruises are tricky” which delayed his timeline, adding that Nunn had to cut his workload. The break will give him a chance to rest and recover.

The Lakers had high expectations from Nunn. Vogel knew that Nunn would have a big role with the team. LA won’t have him in the fold in the near future and Nunn will spend more time at the sideline. Nunn has a non-minimum deal with the Lakers. He is a mainstay in the Lakers’ trade packages. An injured Nunn will only destroy Lakers’ plans for the future.

This is a rather big problem for the Lakers. Vogel will have to work with the players he has on the roster. Anthony Davis is close to his return. His MRI came clean and he can now work out with the team.

LA has lost a lot of games and things look really bad for the franchise. General Manager Rob Pelinka may make a move and trade some players away in order to make room for new names. There are a few potential options for the team.
