Proposed Blockbuster Trade Lands Lakers 3 Key Players From Clippers

The Los Angeles Lakers need to make a move to save their season. They have to make a few trade moves. LA has a 24-23 record at this point of the regular season. Players also lost the game to the Miami Heat. There’s one blockbuster trade proposal for the Lakers and it involves the Los Angeles Clippers.

The trade deadline is almost here and Greg Swartz from Bleacher Report has an idea. His proposal would help the Lakers get rid of Russell Westbrook. According to Swartz, the Lakers should use Westbrook, DeAndre Jordan, Trevor Ariza, a 2023 second-round pick, and a 2025 second-round pick to get Marcus Morris, Eric Bledsoe, and Serge Ibaka.

“If the Lakers want to rid themselves of Westbrook yet still do right by the Los Angeles-area native, trading him to the Clippers may be the only option.

“His lack of outside shooting and high turnover rate don’t make him a good fit next to LeBron James, something everyone in the basketball world outside the Lakers front office could have predicted. He’s still owed the remainder of his $44.2 million salary from this year and $47.1 million next year (assuming he picks up his player option), so moving Westbrook won’t be easy.

“Still, the Clippers could be a trade partner. Westbrook wouldn’t have to relocate and would still get to play for a team with championship aspirations, even if injuries to Kawhi Leonard (torn ACL), and now Paul George (torn UCL), have doomed the team’s offense.”

The blockbuster trade won’t help the Lakers and Clippers

This scenario is really shocking. Struggling Westbrook will find a home somewhere else. Jordan had his struggles, too. But, getting Ibaka, Morris, and Bledsoe? These players are not in their prime. Will they be a good fit for the Lakers?

The Clippers would never support their city rivals. They would never give the Lakers a chance to make the playoffs for obvious reasons.

The Lakers hope to have Anthony Davis back on the floor. His MRI returned negative and yes, there’s chance for Davis to AD to see action really soon. His return will make things easier for everyone.
