Report: This Familiar Coach Could Be Patriots’ Josh McDaniels Replacement

The New England Patriot may soon lose Josh McDaniels to the Las Vegas Raiders, and they should find a replacement for the offensive coordinator.

McDaniels is expected to have an interview with the Raiders. Several sources revealed that he has already started calling coaches around the NFL. Yes, McDaniels really wants to coach his own team. He will definitely try to work with the best. Is this even possible? He will no longer be part of Bill Belichick’s machinery. We all know that Belichick is the best head coach in the NFL.

McDaniels didn’t get many interview requests. This leads us all the way to Las Vegas. McDaniels would have this interview if he wasn’t sure about this job. The Raiders have decided to part ways with their coach. McDaniels seems to be a good fit for the team.

The Patriots have the right Josh McDaniels replacement

Adam Schefter from ESPN reported that former Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien may be the right person to replace McDaniels in New England. The Patriots had great performance with him on the sideline.

If the Raiders and Josh McDaniels get a deal done to make him the next Las Vegas HC, a potential OC replacement in New England could be former Patriots’ assistant Bill O’Brien.

We don’t have much information on O’Brien’s potential role with the team. Bringing him back to New England would be an expected move.

Mac Jones’ connection with O’Brien would ease his way to New England. McDaniels helped Jones unleash his full potential. The Patriots would need someone who can follow the same pattern and fuel Jones’ great performance.

McDaniels considered leaving the Patriots on so many occasions. However, he changed his mind each and every time. Belichick didn’t want to let him go because McDaniels knows his job really well.

The departure of McDaniels would put an end to an era. He has been part of the Patriots for a decade. Seeing him go would be a big blow for the Patriots.

When it comes to O’Brien, he has already worked under Belichick. He was the Patriots’ offensive coordinator for a season, and was also their offensive play-caller before leaving the team to New England.
