Bill Belichick Only Hints At New Patriots Staff, Won’t Name Play-Caller

Bill Belichick is a man of a few words, but he may have announced a new member of his coaching staff. The New England Patriots have added new assistants to the organization this offseason. They won’t have offensive or defensive coordinators as confirmed by Belichick himself. The team has a few new positions and they may have just added another one.

Josh McDaniels’ departure from New England triggered an avalanche of changes. He will be the next head coach for the Las Vegas Raiders. The Patriots didn’t even make a move to replace him. Belichick is happy for his former offensive coordinator and the opportunity he received with the team. McDaniels wanted to coach his own team and he is finally able to do that.

Bill Belichick to work with new staff members

Belichick received a few questions about his coaching staff on Monday morning at the NFL Annual Meeting in Palm Beach, Fla. and he talked about Matt Patricia and Joe Judge.

“We do all the things we do in the offseason, and certainly working through all the offensive and defensive and special teams systems and so forth is an important part of what we do,” Belichick told reporters. “So we’re in that process.

“It’s great to have Joe Judge back and Matt, of course. They’re two really good coaches along with some of the other coaches we have offensively — Nick Caley, Troy (Brown) and so forth, guys that were here last year. We’re working through it, and we’ll do the best we can here.”

Belichick reunited with some of his former assistants. He will be working with familiar faces. The coaching staff looks great at the moment. The Patriots will probably make a few more moves.

The 2022 NFL Draft is already here and the Patriots scouting team will be super busy picking the right players for the roster. There are several great options for the team and Patriots will have to make a move and pick the best position players. The Patriots need receivers and they may add a few in the draft.
