Patriots Reporter Predicts Dont’a Hightower Will Sign With This Team

The New England Patriots released Kyle Van Noy and this was their first move in the offseason. Van Noy may not be the only veteran to leave the team. The same goes to his fellow linebackers. Dont’a Hightower may leave the Patriots and he is expected to sign with another team. Several NFL analysts believe that Hightower will announce his retirement this offseason. However, the veteran is expected to play a few more seasons. Will he retire as a Patriots player?

Mike Reiss shared his thoughts on Hightower’s next move. According to his report, Hightower won’t play with the Patriots in 2022.

The Patriots entered the offseason a little too early this year. They have enough time to make the right moves and pack the roster with talent. Head coach Bill Belichick and his players lost the wild-card game to the Buffalo Bills. Rookie quarterback Mac Jones led the team to a seven-game winning streak and Belichick trusted him enough to give him the keys to the offense. Well, Belichick has to give Jones the right weapons.

Dont’a Hightower to join another team

Reiss offered his thoughts on Belichick’s offseason moves. The new season will start in a week and NFL teams are expected to make big moves. Reiss believes that Hightower will go somewhere else and he bets on the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team has Brian Flores on the coaching staff and this makes things easier for Hightower.

Pittsburgh showed interest in Hightower in 2017. They offered him a good deal but Hightower decided to stay with the Patriots.

Hightower is one of the best players on his position. The Patriots linebacker is a good addition to any team in the NFL. He may be 32 but age has nothing on his performance. He could definitely give the team nice depth at linebacker.

New England has enough talent to enter the regular season but losing Hightower is still a big blow for the team. It’s a long offseason and we can only make predictions at this point. Belichick has to address several issues in the offseason. He has a few targets on the open market and a few great picks in the NFL draft.
