Report: Patriots To Meet With These Three Receivers At NFL Combine

The 2022 NFL Scouting Combine is already here and there are many interesting stories you have to pay attention to at the moment. The New England Patriots will look for players at several important positions. Head coach Bill Belichick needs to upgrade his roster and give Mac Jones the right weapons for the 2022 NFL season. According to Armando Salguero from Outkick, the Patriots will meet three receivers.

Belichick lacks a No.1 receiver at the moment. Julian Edelman announced his retirement last season. New England will probably try to fill up the void Edelman left behind in 2021. Salguero’s report suggests that the Patriots will meet Alabama’s Jameson Williams, Ohio State’s Chris Olave, and Arkansas’ Treylon Burks.

Patriots to meet future receivers

Salguero explained that the Patriots will try to contact as many receivers as possible. These three will interview “back-to-back-to-back.” They are excellent players with great competitiveness on the football field. Belichick has a few good reasons to go after the most talented receivers in the group. Drake London and Garrett Wilson are top picks at this position at the moment. Well, many analysts would agree that Williams is better than any of them. Unfortunately, he sustained an ACL injury in the NCAA National Championship Game.

Mel Kiper from ESPN created an interesting mock draft for the season. He believes that Burks will be the 19th overall pick in the upcoming draft. Olave will be selected 32nd and Williams will go at 28th. Kiper suggests that the Patriots won’t get Williams and will pick Arnold Ebiketie instead.

It’s too soon to make a prediction of any kind. The Patriots will work hard to adjust their roster and Belichick is free to make some moves. Let’s see what happens in a few weeks.

Jones was brilliant in the first season with the Patriots. He didn’t have the best assets but did manage to lead the Patriots to a seven-game winning streak. Hopefully, his team will have better success in the upcoming season. One thing caught everyone’s attention though. Jones will probably work with a new throwing coach.
