LeBron James Shares Final Decision on Offseason Surgery

The Los Angeles Lakers put an end to another disappointing season. Rob Pelinka is entering the offseason with a big task on the table. He has to rebuild the roster and find a new head coach. LeBron James is entering the offseason with a few questions on his future and some even say that he will need a surgery to fix his ankle.

The four-time NBA champion missed a big chunk of the regular season due to injuries. His sprained ankle forced him to sit out games in the most important stretch of the season. This brought every hope for a deep playoff run to an end. LeBron rushed himself into game action and made his injury even worse.

Luckily, he won’t have to undergo a surgery this offseason.

“There’s no surgery required,” the superstar said. “No injections, but I have to stay off of it for probably about four-to-six weeks to let it recover. If we were the team that I hoped and wished we were, I shouldn’t have played in that New Orleans game after the injury. I kind of made it worse, but I wanted to see if we can make a late push, but it literally was like less than one week after the injury in New Orleans. So I kind of made it worse, but I’ll make a full recovery in that.”

LeBron James will spend the offseason without undergoing a surgery

The king of basketball is not 100% and he will have to use this offseason to recover completely. He will also meet many doctors to bring his body to perfection.

“I got some more doctor appointments lined up within the next couple of weeks to take a look at my knee, take a look at my groin and go from there,” LeBron said. “So hopefully no surgery.”

LeBron joined the Lakers for a reason. He wants to add more rings to his portfolio. LeBron won one championship in his second year with the team and to be honest, he has a chance to win a few more.

“I think the front office will do whatever it takes to help this ballclub become a better ballclub from top to bottom,” LeBron said. “Ask me my opinion, I’m going to give my opinion, but at the end of the day, they’re going to make the decision that they feel is best for the franchise. … I came here to win a championship and I want to win more. So I accomplished what I wanted to accomplish, but I’m still hungry for more. I’m confident that this organization wants the same. That’s what this organization has always been about.”
