‘Realistic’ Trade Proposal From Insider Gives Lakers $60 Million Star Forward

The Los Angeles Lakers will have to make a few big moves in the offseason. They waived Trevor Ariza and fired Frank Vogel. Now they have to remove all the players who failed to take the team to the playoffs. Russell Westbrook is definitely on this list. He is getting too much money for nothing. The Lakers may trade Westbrook and get another veteran in return. A trade proposal gives the Lakers a star forward.

The Lakers didn’t receive too many offers for Westbrook. They received a call from the Houston Rockets, but Rob Pelinka didn’t want to give up on his first-rounders.

Trade proposal links the team to the Detroit Pistons

Eric Pincus from Bleacher Report says that the Detroit Pistons may agree to a deal with the Lakers. According to Pincus, the Lakers will get Jerami Grant. Is that even possible?

“In July, the Detroit Pistons could have significant cap space ($20-38 million). The Lakers might be willing to compensate the team for taking on Westbrook but would presumably target Jerami Grant.

“Grant has one year left at $21 million, and the Pistons may not look to extend him. He’s also likely to be in demand from other teams. How much would L.A. have to offer to convince Detroit to take on Westbrook while also parting with Grant? One future first doesn’t seem like enough.

“A pair of firsts might be too rich for the Lakers unless the Pistons were willing to accept sufficient protection. Kelly Olynyk could also provide some value to the Lakers as a big with shooting range.”

This is not a new topic. The Lakers had their eyes on Grant for a really long time. Detroit didn’t trade him at the deadline for a few reasons. Well, Grant is prone to injuries and Pelinka may not land someone like him. Anthony Davis has missed too many games due to injuries. Adding Grant would be a huge risk…

It’s a long offseason and the Lakers have enough options to consider right now. Westbrook is no longer an option.
