Lakers GM Rob Pelinka Goes Off About Big Man Anthony Davis

The Los Angeles Lakers have a few holes to fix this summer. They are coming off of a bad season. Rob Pelinka has to handle a few issues and Anthony Davis seems to be on his list. The Lakers were advised to make some changes. Trading Russell Westbrook was the first option. What about AD?

Pelinka talked to Doris Burke and Mark Jones of ESPN. They talked a lot about the Lakers big man. According to Pelinka, Davis has “quietly put together one of the biggest offseasons of his career.”

Rob Pelinka has a plan for Anthony Davis

Davis missed a big chunk of the last couple of seasons. Will he shock fans with another disappointment? Will he have a great season?

“He’s bought in and I think he’s quietly put together, you know, one of the biggest offseasons of his career,” Pelinka said. “You can just tell. He’s got a very serious tone about him and, you know, last year didn’t unfold the way any of us wanted and I think everyone’s gonna come back with a chip on our shoulder and AD’s gonna lead us with that.

“I think he’s working hard. I know he’s working really hard on his body. Just excited to see what he’s gonna do and I think you could tell, Doris and Mark, with the roster, you know, with the free-agent moves we made this offseason, we wanted to get younger. We wanted to get more athletic and faster and defensive-minded. Those are the things that coach (Darvin) Ham really wanted.”

AD is prone to injuries. He is one of the best players in the NBA and the Lakers traded a few players and draft picks to get him. He and LeBron James established an excellent relationship. Bron wants him around and he doesn’t feel the same about Russ.

AD is not wasting his time though. He worked with “Lethal Shooter” and his jumper seems to be better now. Let’s see if AD was able to improve his shooting.

Zach Lowe was among the first to report that AD will spend the new season on the Lakers roster.
