Patriots ‘Shoe-String French Fry’ Predicted To Be Steal of Draft Class

The New England Patriots had special plans for their 2023 NFL Draft picks and Bill Belichick worked really hard to get efficient defensive players. A shoe-string French fry seems to be an ideal option for the Patriots and NFL experts say this player is the best steal in his draft class.

Emory Hunt from CBS Sports says that third-round pick Marte Mapu could be even better than Keion White. According to Hunt, Mapu is “built like a shoe-string french fry at 6’3, 217. This is Bill Belichick going for versatility. He can play safety, he can play down at linebacker, and he can cover shallow. He’s a defensive player who can move across the back end of a defense, match up on game day and have success.”

Patriots to find great use for the “shoe-string French fry”

Belichick likes great players who can contribute in different roles. He also likes Mapu’s hybrid traits. Patriots coaches will have to pick the best role for Mapu and he could still perform at several different positions.

Daniel Jeremiah from NFL Network has nothing but words of praise for Mapu. Diante Lee from The Athletic said that “at 6-3 and a shade under 220, Mapu is a terrific click-and-close tackler in the run game, ranging out on the perimeter to make stops.” Lee also added that Mapu could help the Patriots “close passing windows quickly.” Belichick got the perfect player for his roster and Mapu could be the next star for the Patriots.

New England will have a tough schedule this season. Belichick will meet former players who can’t wait to come to Foxboro and beat his team. J.C. Jackson is one of them. He promised to come to New England with his new team and destroy Mac Jones and his former teammates. Jackson is not the only one to share these plans. New England faces serious threat at this point of the offseason and it won’t be easy at all. Fun fact? Belichick is ready for them all. He has already beat dominant teams and Robert Kraft trusts his experience.
