Unsigned Dalvin Cook Sends Cryptic Message To Patriots

Dalvin Cook would be an ideal addition to the New England Patriots. The same goes to DeAndre Hopkins. It is interesting to note that these two want to play together. Will they sign deals with the Patriots? Head coach Bill Belichick could elevate the game with these two on his roster.

Cook is a four-time Pro Bowl which makes him a perfect player for Belichick’s 2023 roster. The Minnesota Vikings released him on June 9 and he’s taking his time to make a decision. According to former Patriots assistant Michael Lombardi, Cook is a great fit for the Patriots, and guess what… Cook retweeted this on June 23. Did he just drop a hint about his next move?

“I actually believe Dalvin Cook would be a better fit than [DeAndre] Hopkins for them,” Lombardi said of Cook.

The Arizona Cardinals released Hopkins and he visited the Patriots and the Tennessee Titans. Dianna Russini from ESPN says he had received a contract from the Patriots. Did he accept it?

Patriots could get both Dalvin Cook and DeAndre Hopkins

New England has Rhamondre Stevenson on the roster and he had a key role last season, eclipsing the 1,000 mark

“Stevenson’s a great player. There’s no question,” Lombardi said. “But without Stevenson and if he goes down, it’s Pierre Strong and Kevin Harris. They need another back — back there. And I think Cook is a good change of pace — catch a screen [pass] and go a long way. I think he’ll make a huge difference for the Patriots with Stevenson.”

Cook could be a fresh boost for the team. He had four straight 1,000-yard rushing seasons with 43 scores. Minnesota would’ve kept him around but they just wanted to save some cash.

There is one major issue though. Cook has a huge asking price and it goes at $8.7 million. Spotrac projected him to ask a two-year deal worth $17.5 million. New England has $13.2 million.

Getting Hopkins makes sense, too. However, both players will have to agree to a salary cut in order to sign their deals with the team. Hopkins likes the Patriots management and this could lure him to New England sooner than expected.
