Lakers Superstar LeBron James Hints At Retirement Decision After Free Agency

LeBron James’ potential retirement turned out to be the biggest topic this offseason, and many say he will call it career in free agency.

LeBron took the Los Angeles Lakers to the Western Conference Finals, but they couldn’t get past the Denver Nuggets. The four-time NBA champion seems to enjoy his offseason. When asked about his next step, LeBron dropped a surprising hint. What’s next for him?

“We’ll see what happens going forward,” LeBron said. “I don’t know. I don’t know. I’ve got a lot to think about, to be honest. Just for me personally going forward with the game of basketball.”

The Los Angeles Lakers plan to start the next season strong. They lost Dennis Schroder to the Toronto Raptors. The German native signed a two-year deal with the team, but the Lakers got Gabe Vincent. They were also able to sign Taurean Price and Jaxson Hayes. Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura and D’Angelo Russell will start off the new season as Lakers players.

Lakers want to proceed with their plans despite rumors about LeBron James’ retirement and free agency

Rob Pelinka had great plans for the upcoming season and the front office really wanted to keep the core intact.

“We want to try our hardest to keep this core of guys together and also improve around the edges and on the margins to not only get back to where we were last year but hopefully take the next step and get into the NBA Finals,” Pelinka detailed.

Dan Woike from The Los Angeles Times joined the list of analysts who believe that LeBron will play again. He is not really convinced that the king of basketball will call it career at this point.

“I haven’t spoken to anyone who thinks LeBron James is retiring,” Woike reported in June. “The biggest reasons given to me for his comments after Game 4: fatigue from the season, frustration with getting swept and a reminder to the front office that the Lakers’ title window is closing, keeping a sense of urgency in the foreground.”
