Patriots Confront ‘More Aggressive’ Challenger for DeAndre Hopkins

The New England Patriots set their eyes on DeAndre Hopkins, but they are dealing with a serious challenger at the moment. The Tennessee Titans want Hopkins, too. He is an ideal target for the organization and Tennessee won’t let him go that easily. According to Mike Reiss from ESPN, the Titans have already made a big offer.

“The Tennessee Titans and Patriots have made offers, the Titans have been more aggressive to this point, and Hopkins hasn’t been in a rush to sign,” Reiss reported on Sunday, July 9. “One reason for Hopkins to wait a bit longer is to leave open the possibility of another team entering the mix, potentially increasing his market.”

Hopkins arrived in New England for his visit. It was a good visit, but Hopkins had an unpleasant experience at a Boston restaurant. He was served pork, and yes, he does not eat pork at all. However, this won’t affect his decision. Hopkins likes the Patriots and their organization. He has tons of respect for Bill Belichick.

Patriots to beat their challenger and get Hopkins

It is interesting to note that Hopkins has some respect for the Titans, too. Jeremy Fowler from ESPN reported that the star wide receiver is in contact with both teams.

The Titans may be the strongest opponent Belichick deals with right now, but it would be fair to note that the WR has attracted the attention of several other potential suitors. The Kansas City Chiefs want him on their roster and they may even clear some cap space to get him.

Training camp starts in three weeks and Hopkins has all the time in this world to make a decision. Well, NFL analysts have something to say about this.

Hopkins had a $54 million contract with the Arizona Cardinals. Will he get a similar deal with his new team?

Fans may be worried about Hopkins’ history of injuries, but he is an exceptional player. In his last 19 games, the wide receiver delivered 106 receptions for 1,289 yards and 11 touchdowns and he is also a five-time Pro Bowler. Yes, the Patriots need Hopkins.
