Analyst Shares 1-Word Evaluation Of Lakers’ Offseason

The Los Angeles Lakers were really busy this offseason. It is not like they added a bunch of new players or something like that. The front office signed most of the players from the 2022-23 NBA season. It was a good move and hopefully, the Lakers will get the best of it.

Greg Swartz from Bleacher Report discussed the Lakers’ offseason moves, suggesting that “vindicated” best describes their work.

“A roster turnover that began at the trade deadline only got better this summer as the Lakers retained a lot of their key players,” wrote Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report on August 19. “Adding Gabe VincentTaurean PrinceCam ReddishJaxson Hayes and re-signing D’Angelo Russell made for a terrific offseason overall and helped vindicate Pelinka after his prior mistakes.”

The Lakers gave Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura a good deal. They wanted to keep both players on the roster. Anthony Davis also got a contract extension with the team. The biggest one.

Lakers had the perfect plan for the offseason

A.C. Green also supports the moves Pelinka made so far in the offseason. The Lakers built a monster roster and they are making sure things work well for the team next season.

“I’m … happy that Rob Pelinka is bringing the resources around to help lighten the load a little bit where he doesn’t have to feel he’s got to carry that torch and baton every single game,” Green said during an appearance on Youtube’s “Scoop B Selects” with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson on August 8.

Lakers head coach Darvin Ham knows the Lakers have the best players around. They have one of the strongest rosters in the league and yes, the sky is the limit.

The Lakers did make some mistakes and got players who could deliver the best performance.

“The Los Angeles Lakers were a mess at this time last year,” Swartz added. “While it was fair to criticize the job Rob Pelinka did at the time, it’s also right to admire what he’s accomplished over the last six months.”
