LeBron James Talks Minutes Limit After Lakers Loss Vs Nuggets

The Los Angeles Lakers started the 2023-24 NBA season with a loss to the Denver Nuggets. Players made a few mistakes and head coach Darvin Ham will now focus on the defensive side of the ball. Also, he will have to adjust the starting lineup and create a better winning formula. LeBron James saw limited minutes in the Lakers loss to the Nuggets, but he is following a system.

The four-time NBA champion played 29 minutes in the 117-109 loss and it won’t change later in the season. “We’ll see,” the Lakers head coach said of LeBron’s playing time. “In all likelihood, yes.”

Lakers will keep LeBron on the same level following Nuggets loss

LeBron will turn 39 in December and this is his 21st season in the NBA. He has missed some time due to injuries over the last few seasons and Ham is taking some precautions so LeBron does not miss time or even the postseason. The Lakers will cut his minutes again if necessary.

“You always want to be on the floor,” LeBron said. “I guess there’s a system in place and I’m going to follow it.”

King James finished the game with 21 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and one steal. He put up quite a show during the game, showing the world that age has nothing on him.

Lakers played without a few promising players in the game. Jarred Vanderbilt and Jalen Hood-Schifino missed the game due to injuries and these two could really make a difference for the purple and gold. It was a busy night and Nuggets players made things really difficult for their LA opponent. Nuggets fans added fuel to the fire and their trash talk couldn’t be ignore.

The Nuggets took advantage of the situation and shot 52.7% from the floor and 41.2% from the three-point line.

The Lakers expect to have Vanderbilt on the floor really soon, and hopefully, he will help them boost their defensive efforts.

This is just one loss and it should be a lesson for the Los Angeles Lakers.
