Mac Jones’ QB1 Status Hit By Will Grier Truth Bomb From Patriots Insider

The New England Patriots will play against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday and everyone seems to be excited about the game. Former Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels will coach against his former team. It will be a game full of emotions! McDaniels has nothing but great words for Jones, but the Alabama quarterback may soon lose his job as Patriots QB1.

Jones was great in his debut with the Patriots. McDaniels respected his talent and helped him unleash his potential. Things took a wrong turn last season and Jones struggled to perform. His second year with the Patriots was bad, and this one is even worse. Let’s just say Jones didn’t have the best start of his third season with the Patriots. The team has lost four games so far and fans aren’t happy. Belichick isn’t happy and neither is team owner Robert Kraft.

McDaniels says that Jones is much better than the player every fan has watched play so far, but a Patriots insider claims that the quarterback could lose his job as a starter.

Newly signed player could replace Jones as the Patriots QB1

Greg Bedard from the Boston Sports Journal says that Will Grier could get Jones’ job if the third-year quarterback doesn’t improve his game.

“From talking to people around the team, I think, if Mac Jones doesn’t succeed this week, if he doesn’t retain his job, I think it’s Will Grier’s,” said Bedard, per Felger & Mazz of 98.5 The Sports Hub.

Grier made a few stops in the NFL and joined the Patriots on September 22. The Carolina Panthers drafted him in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft and then he joined the Dallas Cowboys. He played with the Cincinnati Bengals recently. He was a top prospect at West Virginia and NFL expert had high expectations from him. Will the Patriots get the best of his skills?

The Patriots could use all the help they can get. Belichick benched Jones in favor of Bailey Zappe and we can’t really predict his next move. Is Grier the next in line?
