Patriots Coach Bill Belichick Wants Dangerous Play Banned By NFL

The New England Patriots went against the Miami Dolphins in Week 8, but things didn’t go the way they planned. They had a good and unexpected win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 7. NFL experts predicted an easy one for Bill Belichick and his team. It wasn’t the case and the Patriots even lost one player. DeVante Parker was hit in the head in the third quarter of the game and the team ruled him out. Referees ruled it as an incompletion. Head coach Belichick issued another serious warning about at least one dangerous play, and hopefully, the NFL will ban it.

Belichick is a man of a few words, but he wasn’t happy with the officiating in the game against the Dolphins. Referees made some questionable calls against his team. Ezekiel Elliott got tripped by a Miami defender. Belichick talked about this during his appearance on The Greg Hill Show and hopefully, his comments will make a difference. It’s not just his player. Any other player could suffer a similar injury. It is a dangerous play and the NFL has to do something about it.

“I like to feel like our players are getting protected like everybody else’s. The tripping on Ezekiel Elliott, that’s another dangerous play,” Belichick said. “Stuff like that, there shouldn’t be any place for that in football.”

Belichick encourages the NFL to ban every dangerous play

Players protection is a priority for the Patriots head coach. Mike Reiss from ESPN asked Belichick about this in a video call, and the head coach said it was really important.

“What is the process you go through if you feel like that isn’t happening?” Reiss added, and Belichick said, “Let’s hope it happens.”

Dolphins players should receive more than one fine. They earned one with the tripping and another with DeShon Elliott’s hit on Parker. Let’s see how the NFL handles this. This should not go unnoticed, because other players will take NFL ruling for granted and cause even more serious injuries.
