Anthony Davis Calls Out Lakers ‘Collective Problem’ After Blowout To Magic

The Los Angeles Lakers suffered an ugly loss to the Orlando Magic. Their opponent outscored them in every quarter except the fourth. It was bad and Lakers big man Anthony Davis was honest about the loss to the Magic.

According to AD, everyone should be held accountable for the 120-101 loss.

“It came from everybody, honestly,” the Laker said after the game. “Bigs contest it’s on the guards. But then, when the guards could get a contest, the bigs gotta rebound. So it was a collective problem tonight.”

Lakers players struggled on the offensive side of the ball. Head coach Darvin Ham will have to adjust his offense and fix the damage.

“I mean, even though we kind of tightened up the screws a little bit [after the first quarter versus Orlando], it’s just the offensive rebounds,” Davis added. “Offensive rebounds killed it the entire game.”

Davis puts up great numbers

It was a bad loss, but Davis had great stats. He finished the night with 28 points, 13 rebounds, seven blocks, and three assists. These numbers are great, but AD didn’t really shoot any threes.

Teammate Austin Reaves believes that Davis can shoot monster threes if he wants to.

“AD’s shooting the ball really well right now,” the young Laker said on “The Lowe Post” podcast on September 25. “It’s something that I’ve tried to get him to do more is shoot. Because if he does that you know at a very decent level – which he can because, in the bubble year, he shot it really well – literally you can’t guard him.”

Davis knows that the Lakers have no excuse for the loss vs Magic

Ham adjusts his rotations each night as several players are out due to injuries. Jarred Vanderbilt, Rui Hachimura, Taurean Prince, and Gabe Vincent are out, but AD knows that his team has to do better. Injuries are no excuse.

“We don’t have a choice,” Davis said. “We can’t use the excuse if guys are out, East Coast time change, all that. The guys who played have been in a league long enough to be ready, to go out and get a win. So, if we don’t want to stay on this side of the win-loss column, then we got to come out with a better first quarter on Monday.”
