Anthony Davis, Lakers Step Up Vs. Blazers Without LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers celebrated a good win following the win over the Portland Trail Blazers. Anthony Davis and his Lakers teammates delivered a strong performance vs Blazers. LeBron James didn’t see any action in the game, but his teammates really stepped in. Crypto.com was on fire and it was a well-earned win for the purple and gold.

Head coach Darvin Ham still deals with a few injured players and has to come up with a different lineup each night. His players still have trouble shooting from the 3-point line.

“Guys are still figuring out their rhythms in terms of the synergy with one another, each other’s tendencies and habits,” head coach Ham said of players’ shooting struggles. “But that’ll come. … The biggest thing that you can do in the meantime, though, is be good defensively.”

Davis and Lakers teammates beat the Blazers with strong performance

Some NBA analysts said that the Lakers roster lacks depth, but players proved them wrong. They showed their dominant side once again, reminding the world of their greatness.

Davis was quiet in the first half of the game, but ended up playing 40 minutes in the game. The big man scored 20 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, and three blocks.

Lakers players praised Davis’ performance and admitted that his presence sure increases their chances to win games. Davis has embraced his role with the franchise and his presence makes a difference.

“I seen the ‘fro back tonight, so I knew it thought it was going to be a good day for him,” said Austin Reaves. “Anytime he gets on the floor — obviously, never want to have anyone out, especially Bron — but anytime you’ve got Anthony Davis, you’ve got a chance. Changes the game in so many different ways the stat sheet doesn’t even show.”

Cam Reddish was another bright star on Ham’s roster. He scored 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals in 38 minutes on the floor. Austin Reaves scored 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in the win over Blazers. Rui Hachimura was a star in the third quarter of the game. His defense was great and Ham would love to see more of that.
