Lakers’ LeBron James Shares Blunt Take Amid Anthony Davis Absence

The Los Angeles Lakers lost another game and this one came at the hands of the Houston Rockets. It was an unexpected loss for the team and LeBron James had something to say. LA is 0-5 on the road and the 128-94 was disappointing on so many levels. Anthony Davis was a last-minute scratch and LeBron addressed his absence.

Lakers players trailed by double-digits in the first quarter for the very first time this season. Their opponents showed a stronger dominance at the Toyota Center. The Lakers lacked some of their players, including Jaxson Hayes, Gabe Vincent, and Jarred Vanderbilt.

LeBron and Davis will join forces again

LeBron finished the night with 18 points and played just 27 minutes. This was below his average but head coach Darvin Ham made a proper decision.

The four-time NBA champion discussed the struggles his teammates had on the basketball court that day.

“We can’t build cohesion if we don’t have our unit,” LeBron said. “It’s that simple. We’re very depleted on the injury side.”

Ham found himself in the same situation as Frank Vogel few seasons ago. He has to come up with a different lineup each night because many players deal with injuries at the moment. It is a really challenging situation for both him and players.

“Every day, we have a different lineup, we play with different guys, new guys come in,” said Rui Hachimura. “It’s almost like we have a trade every day, you know?”

LeBron was asked if Nov. 8 is too early to discuss the injured squad.

“I don’t have an assessment,” the Lakers superstar said.

Injured players will recover sooner or later. AD is expected to join the team in the game against the Phoenix Suns.

“It’s tough,” said Ham. “We’re juggling different circumstances, guys being in and out of the lineup. But at the end of the day, no one’s gonna feel sorry for you. Especially when you’re a Los Angeles Laker. So, our biggest thing now … is to go into Phoenix on Friday and just be the hardest-working, most competitive, most together team on the floor for 48 minutes.”
