Fox Sports and NFL on Prime Video host Charissa Thompson has so much going on right now and let’s just say we are not even surprised by fans’ reactions on social media. New England Patriots reporter Tamara Brown was triggered by the ugly comments Thompson made.
Thompson made a shocking revelation revelation regarding her reports in the late 2000s. She was a successful reporter during NFL games, but it seems like most of her reports were… fabricated. Yes, Thompson admitted to fabricating some of her reports. As you may be guessing, fans went crazy. So did fellow reporters.
“I’ve said this before, so I haven’t been fired for saying it, but I’ll say it again. I would make up the report sometimes, because the coach wouldn’t come out at halftime, or it was too late and I didn’t want to screw up the report,” Thompson said, per “Pardon My Take.” “I was like, ‘I’m just gonna make this up.’”
Patriots reporter joins fellow colleagues in their criticism for Thompson
Former NFL sideline host Kathryn Tappen is one of the many TV personalities to condemn these comments. She said Thompson’s admission was “deplorable” and Lisa Salters from ESPN said she was “disgusted” by her colleague.
Andrea Kremer works with Thompson and she still condemned her actions. She said she was “sickened by the insulting mockery being made of sideline reporting.”
“As a black woman who’s been GRINDING to get a network job as a sideline reporter this is infuriating,” Patriots host Brown wrote on X on Thursday. “I’ve been told I wasn’t ready, nothing was open, left on read… you name it. Yet there are people like (Thompson) in these roles not taking it seriously.”
We have a few good reasons to believe that these comments won’t end here. A lot of reporters are fed up with Thompson’s attitude, but she has yet to react to the backlash she received. Will she offer an apology? Let’s see what happens in the Thompson saga.
