Devin McCourty Names Patriots’ Rival As ‘Scary’ Destination For Bill Belichick

The New England Patriots lost their 10th game for the season. Many would agree that this is one of the worst seasons in team history. The team has a 2-10 record at this point and rumors are louder than ever. Head coach Bill Belichick found himself on the hot seat again and everyone seems to have a preferred destination for the mastermind.

Former Patriots safety Devin McCourty shared his thoughts on the current situation in New England. He also discussed a few potential destinations for Belichick, listing the scariest scenario in this case. According to McCourty, Belichick could push the panic button by joining the Los Angeles Chargers and Buffalo Bills. He says this “would be scary for the league.”

McCourty sees Chargers and Bills as potential destination for Belichick

During an appearance on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show,” McCourty said that Belichick joining an AFC Rival would be a bitter pill for many teams. McCourty also said that seeing Belichick join the Bills “would be very, very fun to watch.”

“I don’t think Sean McDermott is lasting after this year. The hard thing in this league is once you start firing coordinators and stuff — you fire Leslie Frazier, then you fire Ken Dorsey,” McCourty said. “To me, the next thing is the owner fires you. I think a Buffalo or a Chargers.”

If Belichick joins one of the AFC East Rivals, he will have to meet the Patriots twice a year. He has been part of the Patriots for two decades. He led the team to nine Super Bowl appearances and won six titles. Belichick is the best to ever coach a NFL team and no one can match his dominance in the league.

Belichick hasn’t said anything to make people believe that he will leave the Patriots. The Kraft family hasn’t said anything either.

The head coach signed a contract with the team this summer, meaning the Patriots will get a great compensation if they send him away.
