Lakers’ Austin Reaves Reveals 2-Way Players Were Begging To Win NBA In-Season Tournament

The Los Angeles Lakers had a brilliant performance in the NBA In-Season Tournament. They came out as winners and this win is the best warning players could send to the rest of the NBA. LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Austin Reaves, and the rest of the players on Darvin Ham’s roster showed great stats throughout the tournament.

LeBron praised his entire team for the great work. He compared Davis to Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal and said Reaves plays like Michael Jordan did back in the days. It was a great compliment for both players. They played their best basketball in the win over the Indiana Pacers. Davis scored 41 points and Reaves hit 22 in his first 12 minutes in the game, finishing his night with 28 points. Yes, these two stole the show!

Reaves has an army of fans in LA and General Manager Rob Pelinka is definitely keeping him around for a while. The young Laker was mentioned as one of the trade candidates for the franchise, but Pelinka would never trade Reaves.

Reaves and Co. did magic in the In-Season Tournament

Lakers players, including Reaves, were hyped to win. NBA analysts criticized the team, claiming that Ham doesn’t have the depth he needs to make the NBA Finals. Well, it seems like he has that and much more.

Ham works with an excellent group of players, including players on the back of his bench. Reaves made a hilarious comment on his teammates during his appearance on FanDuel’s Run It Back on Monday morning.

“2-ways were like ‘this is a $150,000 game for us, we need you to win,’” Reaves said. We couldn’t agree more!

These players have to show their true skills to get a spot in the NBA. Their two-way contracts don’t cement their position in the league and most of them keep playing in the G League. Earning extra money is always a good idea.
