Lakers Re-Sign LeBron James’ Best Wingman in Proposed Trade

The Los Angeles Lakers have been linked to several players and experts believe that the team could trade for their former wingman. Getting Alex Caruso makes perfect sense for the Lakers. Greg Swartz from Bleacher Report has a trade proposal for the Lakers. LeBron could finally get the best wingman in his career. So, the Lakers are getting Caruso and Torrey Craig. The Bulls will get Gabe Vincent, Jalen Hood-Schifino, and a 2024 second-rounder.

Caruso could help the Lakers improve their efficacy from deep and he is also an excellent glue guy for LeBron. What else could the Lakers ask for?

LeBron and Caruso worked really well together. The four-time NBA champion even said Caruso was the GOAT back then.
“Every time he’s in the game, he’s a plus guy,” LeBron said of his teammate in a New York Times interview in 2020. “He can do so much. He can defend at a high level. He’s very smart. He’s very tough. To have him on this ball club is a luxury.”

Lakers have a chance to get their wingman through a trade

The Lakers let Caruso go and he joined the Bulls. He was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team and yes, the Lakers really regret letting him go.

“The rumor around the Lakers was they regretted letting him go almost immediately after it happened,” one Eastern Conference executive told Heavy Sports’ Sean Deveney in November. “They knew that was a mistake. He’s not the same player now, but the Lakers are worried they don’t have enough of an edge. He could be someone who helps fix that.”

Let’s see if the Lakers can pull out a move to get Caruso. He is a natural fit for the team. The Lakers have a few tradeable players right now and some of them will be eligible for a trade on December 15.

Will Chicago let Caruso go that easily? Jake Fischer from Yahoo Sports has more details about it. According to him, the Bulls would trade Caruso for two first-rounders.

“If they can get two first-round picks for Alex Caruso, I’d do it,” an NBA exec told Hoopshype’s Michael Scotto.
