Lakers’ Superstar LeBron James Reacts To ‘Crazy’ Old Footage Of Him Battling Lenny Cooke

The NBA world was well aware of LeBron James’ dominance back in the days. He joined the NBA as a top pick and nothing changed. LeBron became the best basketball player of all time. Young players look up to him and his greatness. LeBron grabbed the opportunity and got the best of it. Unlike LeBron, Lenny Cooke didn’t have the best NBA career. He didn’t even have a career at all.

Lenny was considered a top prospect when LeBron was in high school. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar shared a footage of him going against Cooke and it is crazy. He did so to remind the world of Cooke’s great talent!

What happened to Cooke? Many would agree that he destroyed his own career before it even started. Big ego and attitude issues made him hit the rock bottom.

The footage LeBron posted shows Cooke saying that Carmelo Anthony is an “alright” player. Another video features him asking Kobe Bryant “When are you going to play me?” LeBron also shared a video of him destroying Cooke and his team with a 35-foot shot.

Unlike Lenny Cooke, LeBron James’ dream came true

It’s interesting to note is the fact that Cooke was recruited by several universities to join the NCAA. His agents advised him to aim for the big league. It was a terrible mistake and Cooke wasn’t even given a chance to join an NBA team in 2002. He played in minor leagues and even went overseas. The Boston Celtics tried to see him in action in the 2003 summer league, but he didn’t make the team.

There’s more. Talented Cooke suffered two Ashilles tendon injuries overseas and gave up on his dream to play basketball.

LeBron recognizes and admires great players and Cooke sure got his attention. Unfortunately, he didn’t follow the same dream and took the wrong route.

When it comes to LeBron, he will turn 39 later this month and he is still going strong.
