Patriots Reveal Who Will Make Final Decision On No. 3 Pick In 2024 NFL Draft

The New England Patriots had a terrible end to the 2023 NFL season. The organization decided to make big changes and reshape the entire squad. They made changes in the coaching staff and also cut ties with some of their veteran players. The Patriots won’t stop here and they already made plans for the No.3 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Head coach Bill Belichick had a word in the acquisition of new players. He is gone now and the Patriots have to find someone to do his job. Let’s not forget that Belichick was also the Patriots de facto general manager.

Patriots have to get the best of the No.3 pick

Jerod Mayo stepped in as the next head coach for the Patriots. He could do the job. If this doesn’t happen, someone from the Kraft family will have to do the job. Eliot Wolf could make decisions, too.

Wolf represented the team at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. His role changed following Belichick’s departure from the team. In his session with the media, Wolf talked about the team’s plans for the No.3 pick in the draft. Who will make a decision on the first-round pick? The Patriots can’t afford another mistake at the moment. They have to get the best of this pick.

“It’s gonna be a collaborative effort,” Wolf said. “Coach Mayo, myself, Matt Groh, the whole staff, but at the end of the day somebody has to make that pick and that’ll be myself.”

The Patriots have a few big holes to fill. Some of their veterans will leave the team in free agency. They need receivers and quarterbacks. Mac Jones doesn’t look like someone who can lead the team in 2024. We don’t even know if the Patriots plan to give him another chance. NFL analysts believe that Jones should change his landscape.

New England needs depth at receiver as well. The team has been linked to several players. Will they opt for a receiver in the draft? Maybe they will get another signal-caller.
