The New England Patriots made a bunch of signings following the 2024 NFL Draft. They used their picks to get great players in the draft, but also looked into all their options in the undrafted free agent market. One particular undrafted free agent may actually make the Patriots 2024 roster.

DeShaun Fenwick joined the Patriots following the 2024 NFL Draft. He has great talent and skills to earn a spot on the 53-man roster. NFL analysts view him as a reliable option for the Patriots and he can most certainly make an impact on the football field.

NFL analysts have great expectations from the Patriots undrafted free agent

Fenwick spent six seasons in South Carolina and Oregon State. He wasn’t getting too many carries, but there’s a strong explanation behind this. The talented player averaged 5.3 yards per tote in 50 games. He showed similar results as Rhamondre Stevenson (speed, agility tests). His athleticism may not be making headlines, but he can sure get the Patriots first downs.

Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo has yet to fill the third option on the running back depth chart. Fenwick may challenge Ke’Shawn Vaugh, JaMycal Hasty, and Kevin Harris for the spot on the roster.

Mayo will throw more than one competition in training camp. He has big shoes to fill in, but also has a great group of newbies to make things work. The Patriots roster will look a lot different in 2024 and players are actually excited to see this team make an impact. Changes are always good and the Patriots have made quite a few lately. Mayo has great options to pick from and he has to get the best players on his new squad.

The Patriots head coach is also trying to get some of the former players on his coaching staff. Tom Brady has an open invitation and so does Devin McCourty. A great number of former players decided to join Mayo’s new squad.
