Mac Jones Penned Emotional Message To Patriots Fans Last Night

The New England Patriots were expected to make a decision on Mac Jones. The Alabama quarterback looked like a great prospect three years ago. Head coach Bill Belichick trusted his potential, but the experiment didn’t work. Patriots fans were visibly frustrated in the last couple of years and it was more than obvious that Jones needs a change in scenery.

Jones had an excellent rookie campaign. Many expected him to become a franchise quarterback. Jones’ struggles in Year 2 surprised many fans. He couldn’t find a mutual language with Matt Patricia and wasn’t too happy about the offensive gameplan. Bill O’Brien took over the offense in 2023, but it was of no help. Jones had another frustrating season and New England decided to trade him to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Patriots will receive a 2024 sixth-rounder in the Jones trade. That’s what most analysts predicted. He is a talented guy, but he may thrive better somewhere else.

Jones thanked Patriots organization, fans for the great experience

Jones delivered an emotional message for his former team and thanked pretty much everyone in the organization, including former Patriots head coach Belichick. It was a wild ride for Jones and now is the perfect time to say goodbye.

“The last three seasons with the New England Patriots are years I will cherish for the rest of my life,” Jones wrote. “I will always be grateful for my time in New England and for the opportunity to start my career in the NFL.

To Mr. Kraft and the Kraft family, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to make my dream of playing in the NFL come true. To Coach Belichick and all the coaches and support staff who helped me each and every day, including training, equipment, strength, video staff, and everyone in between, thank you for all that you did to help prepare me over the years. I truly appreciate each and every one of you.”
