Patriots’ Drake Maye Sends Strong Message To Owner Robert Kraft

The New England Patriots decided to use their No.3 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and get a quarterback to fill the biggest void on the roster. Mac Jones is no longer part of the team, leaving the Patriots with Jacoby Brissett as their best option at quarterback. However, the selection of Drake Maye turned out to be a huge change in scenery. Talented Maye had his introductory press conference and used the opportunity to deliver a big message for the Patriots and team owner Robert Kraft.

NFL analysts didn’t see Maye’s skills the same way, but the Patriots trusted his potential. The North Carolina prospect will be forever grateful for the opportunity. Maye went big when he said that he would never make Kraft regret the decision to select him third overall.

Kraft and the Patriots have high expectations from Maye

Maye knows that he is joining the biggest dynasty of all time. Filling Tom Brady’s shoes won’t be easy and he knows it well. The Patriots won six Super Bowls during Brady’s time with the team.

The Patriots struggled to find a reliable quarterback following Brady’s departure. They had several players try to embrace a leadership role, but it didn’t work.

Maye joins a reshaped Patriots organization led by a new head coach. Jerod Mayo is taking a completely different approach all while respecting Bill Belichick’s legacy and contribution. The best part of Mayo’s signing is the fact that he is super confident about his new position. He sees himself as a good fit for the team.

Patriots head coach Mayo knew that Maye would be the best option for the team right away. He is well aware of his ability to make throws. It may take time to adjust to the pressure on NFL fields and the new gameplan Mayo created.
