Report: Patriots Aiming For Former Oregon State Pass Rusher

The New England Patriots will be off for the period before they open the training camp. But, we can still hear Bill Belichick bellowing “No Days Off” at the center of the City Hall in Boston. Although this happened two years ago, we can still hear him. It’s interesting to note that the Patriots and other teams attended the workout of the Oregon State pass rusher Bright Ugwoegbu.

Can you guess the other teams? We could spot the Green Bay packers, Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints, Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers appeared at the workout of the pass rusher.

We all remember how head coach Jonathan Smith suspended Ugwoegbu indefinitely by the program. The reasons are still a mystery. He used his Twitter account to announce his leaving of the program for the Supplemental Draft set for July 11.

“I came to OSU with the goal of ensuring the future of my family. That goal has yet to change and I must do what I have to do to take care of them. I want to thank Beaver Nation for the love and support they provided me for my years in Corvallis,” Ugwoegbu tweeted.

He can’t quite cope with the fact that he will have to leave the teammates.

The workout was fine. Ugwoegbu measured in at about six-feet, 205 pounds. He run a 4.97 40 yard dash, a 4.7 second short shuttle, a 7.38 second 3-cone drill, and even turned in a 33 inch vertical jump and there was a 9-foot-6 inch broad jump.

The linebacker managed to total 126 tackles.

Ugwoegbu still questions the reasons for his unspecified suspension, but the Patriots don’t seem to mind it. He will be another pass rusher to join the camp, and it would be nice to watch him there. So fresh.
