Kevin Durant Drops Bombshell About Lakers Recruits And LeBron James’ Role in It

LeBron James signed with the Los Angeles Lakers this summer, and his new contract is still making headlines. Some said that the signing of LeBron has something to do with the recruitment of another star. The team consists of young players, and LeBron will sure attract a big name. Others claim that King James tried to recruit Kevin Durant.

But, it seems like these rumors have nothing to do with the real truth. Well, fans would gladly welcome Kevin Durant in L.A., but the star decided to put an end to the rumors, saying that LeBron had not even tried to recruit him. “Hell no. That was all false. All false. 100 percent false. He didn’t talk about none of that stuff,” Durant said.

“As it pertains to LeBron James and LA — we know that the reports have been that he’s making some phone calls. I got two phone calls last night — after hours — with folks telling me that LeBron James reached out to Kevin Durant via text about coming to Los Angeles. I don’t know what Kevin Durant’s response to him was. But I will tell you what I did hear, is that behind the scenes Kevin Durant was like, ‘Why would I do that?” Stephen A. Smith said back in June.

Marcus Thompson covers the Warriors for The Athletic, and he said that Durant will sure leave the team once his contract ends.

“Man, KD out. I feel like he is gone… It does have that vibe, like, ‘This is it. This could be it right here.’ Here’s the hard part with KD: we don’t know what he wants. I don’t know that he knows what he wants. But I know the Warriors don’t know fully what he wants. Is it a championship, supremacy, is it to be the ace? It feels like he has gotten everything he could possibly get from the Warriors, and it’s still not 100 percent like he wants to be here. If it was like a relationship, like, ‘Look, man. I gave you all I got. You still looking— you might as well just go.’ That’s how it feels,” Thompson reported.

Where is Durant going this time?
