LeBron James Comments On Internal Lakers Conflict

The Los Angeles Lakers are playing their very first game since the meeting between Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson and head coach Luke Walton. For many, this was a rather serious internal conflict, but LeBron James’ focus is on a different level.

Although this meeting was rather serious and sort of heated, LeBron said his focus is on winning. The same applies to his teammates. So, yes, they are not really interested in this conflict as some like to call it.

“It doesn’t bother me at all because I don’t pay attention to it, I don’t listen to it,” LeBron said prior to the game against the Portland Trail Blazers when asked about all the conflict rumors.

“It actually never even gets to me really, so it’s not a big deal for us. We need to figure out how we can string together some great games or even good games and bring our win total from where it is now. Because that’s the business we’re in. That’s the only thing we want to do. We want to be as good a team as we can be and win ballgames,” he added.
ESPN was the first to share the details of the meeting, suggesting that it was critical for the head coach due to his early-season moves.

The Los Angeles Lakers lost the first game against the Blazers two weeks ago. They won three games in the regular season, and that’s not the best scenario Magic Johnson hoped for.

“We’re still in the real early stages. But we are much more of a unit today than we were two weeks ago. So I think we’ll be even better two weeks from now, and two weeks from then,” LeBron said.

“I think every game, every road trip, every film session, every day that we’re together is going to continue to get us more and more familiar with one another. You just have to learn each other and know what to expect out of one another, how to challenge each other.”
