Rex Burkhead’s Projected Return Should Give Boost To Patriots

There is a great chance that Rex Burkhead returns to the field in early December. Sony Michel is still injured, and Burkhead was placed on injured reserve due to a concussion. He returned to practice on November 8, and is expected to play on December 2 against the Minnesota Vikings.

When Burkhead returns, he will probably split time with Michel in the running back role. Michel will start, Burkhead will enter every third series an James White is leading the play as the “passing back.” Cordarrelle Patterson is here to add depth.

Rob Gronkowski is also expected to return, so the Patriots will have a complete offensive lineup this season. This will happen at the right time, as the team is set to face a few strong opponents.

“There’s been a lot of moving parts this year. We’ve got to get out there and practice together, and that transitions [to games]. We haven’t had that, which is not an excuse. Every team goes through that, but we’re trying to adjust and adapt,” quarterback Tom Brady said.

The Patriots will return to the facility on Monday, and will have a couple of meetings. The team has four straight days off on its bye. Wednesday’s practice session was held in cold and windy weather, and players focused on fundamentals and a few other aspects. Head coach Bill Belichick got the guys working really hard. That was not the case with Adam Gase. The Miami Dolphins had the entire week off, and we cannot really imagine that in Foxboro. Belichick takes things seriously, and he is not in the mood of giving too many days off.

The Patriots are getting ready to play their games on the schedule, and we can already see them winning the top game. They had a bad game against the Titans, but that will never ever happen again. Belichick will not allow such thing.
