Report: LeBron James Considering Pulling Himself From The Lineup

LeBron James is giving the team a terrible headache, and it seems like he will sit out multiple weeks. That means leaving the lineup. Well, he will have to do that if his health needs him to do so.

The Lakers revealed that LeBron will miss another week due to his groin injury. ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported that LeBron will be out of the lineup for quite some time.

“The Lakers said they will provide another status update on James next Wednesday, ahead of their game next Thursday at Oklahoma City.

While James, 34, could be in line to return in time for the Lakers’ game against the Thunder, he will take a cautious approach and is prepared to be out multiple weeks if that’s what it takes to return at 100 percent, a source familiar with James’ thinking told ESPN.”

Here comes the update

LeBron was re-evaluated, and he will have to go through another check-up. The team will provide an update on his condition on Jan. 16.

“He’s getting re-evaluated again, I think, on the 16th,” Walton said prior to Friday’s game. “So for me, I got a lot of other things that we’re trying to get done between now and then. We got a great medical staff. LeBron, as you know, he takes care of himself when it comes to seeing doctors and taking care of his body. So, as soon as he’s cleared and ready to go then we’ll get him back out there. But until then, we’ll continue to be patient with him.”

Will LeBron be fully cleared on the 16th?

“Well, it all depends what that evaluation tells us,” the head coach said. “If he’s fully cleared, then yeah, then we try to get him out there on the court and play some basketball. If he’s not ready, then it can’t be the final hurdle. But like I said, we got so much other things we got to take care of that we’ll just wait until the 16th to hear about him.”
