Aqib Talib Send Tom Brady Ultimate Compliment Before Super Bowl LIII

There is no anger or frustration growing inside Aqib Talib especially when it comes to talking about his former team and quarterback Tom Brady.

Aqib Talib was part of the Patriots family in 2012-13, and is now playing with the Rams. It is funny how some players get to confront their former teammates. However, there are no bad feelings between the Rams corner and the Pats. Moreover, Talib called Brady the GOAT.

“He’s the G.O.A.T., man – one of the best to do it,” Talib said. “Super competitive guy and he’s really like the offensive coordinator on the field.”

Rams head coach Sean McVay agrees with Aqib Talib

“Yeah, it’s a great challenge. I mean, there’s a reason why he’s arguably one of the greatest of all time, because he does an excellent job of identifying whatever defensive structure you’re in, whether you want to pressure, whether you want to try to put pressure with a four-man rush and play loaded zone or some man principles behind it,” McVay said. “He’s got such an ownership on being able to get the ball out of his hand in a timely manner and then he’s got guys that can separate. So, it’s got to be a good mixture. We’ve got to identify the things that we want to be able to stop. Any time that you can try to move the quarterback off of his spot, whether that’s interior or edge pressure, just being able to force them to move where they’re not able to just set their feet and work in rhythm – certainly easier said than done, but that’s going to be a key to try to get him off of his rhythm, which not many people have success doing.”

Quarterback Jared Goff could not do anything but agree with his coach. “It just goes to show what he’s been able to do,” he said. “I think getting to this game nine times is unbelievable. You can’t put into words how remarkable it is and everything he’s done and why he’s going to go down as the best of all time, if not one of the best of all time. Just so much respect for him and everything he’s done. At the same time, I think our defense is ready for the challenge. It’s going to be a tough one and one that we’re getting prepared for right now.”
