Lakers Head Coach Makes ‘Leader’ Claim Over Team After Poor Results

Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton called on the players to get stronger in the next few games and rely on a new leader to replace LeBron James.

LeBron missed several games since suffering a groin strain on the Christmas Day game against the Golden State Warriors. The king participated in a shoot around, but did not train well with the team. Rajon Rondo is injured at the moment, and the team really needs a ‘leader.’ What does the head coach say about this

The core of the team is consisted of Kyle Kuzma, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball.

Walton insists that the Lakers will have to find a leader from the team and break the game-losing tradition.

“It’s got to come from the group. We know we have some of the best leaders in the game. We’ve got LeBron and Rondo and Tyson, but they’re hurt so it’s up to other people to step up and lead. Guys are doing it, we just have to do more of it,” he said.

The head coach also said that once the team determines a leader, the great results will come. “It’s great when things are going well, and the challenge is when we hit dry spells or other teams get hot. That’s when it starts getting quiet, and that’s when we need it the most. That’s when we need five guys huddling up on the court talking about what happened on the last play, what’s going to happen on the next play, being in the moment of playing. It’s something that normally comes with age, and we’re playing a lot of young guys right now but that’s where we’re at. We trust and believe that the guys playing can win. We just have to do it.”
