Report: Likely Landing Team For Carmelo Anthony Revealed

The Houston Rockets believed that the Oklahoma City Thunder test with Carmelo Anthony was an aberration. So, what’s going on out there?

However, Carmelo Anthony suited up for 10 games with the Rockets, and did not really have luck during his time with the franchise. Sam Amick and Joe Vardon of The Athletic say that Anthony has “multiple options available.” They are convinced that he will make a decision on his professional career prior to the Feb. 7 trade deadline.

“According to two sources with knowledge of Anthony’s situation, the exiled 10-time All-Star who remains on the Houston Rockets roster has multiple options available and is expected to pick one before the Feb. 7 trade deadline. There is no clarity as to whether he would be traded in these scenarios or waived and subsequently signed, but there are strong signs that he will play in the NBA again.”

Amick’s source explained that Anthony will become part of a team in the next week, and continue building his NBA career. There is one particular team that was linked to the former All-Star more than others. Yes, it is the Los Angeles Lakers.

“The Lakers, who have a full roster and would have to waive someone to sign him if he was waived, continue to be tied to Anthony more than any other team.”

Carmelo Anthony is all about planning

Anthony scored just two points in his last match with the Rockets. The team signed him to a $2.4 million contract after being sent to the Atlanta Hawks as regulated in a three-team trade. The Hawks bought out Anthony after the deal.

The former All-Star had a rocky campaign with the Thunder after the team got him from the New York Knicks last summer.

The rockets will have to pay the remainder of Anthony’s salary in case they sent him somewhere else.
