Watch: Sony Michel Scores Second TD Vs. Chargers

Sony Michel plays really well in the game against the Los Angeles Chargers, and he scored the second touchdown for the team.

Michel is playing his first playoff game, but you cannot see it on the field. Sunday is his big day, and the New England Patriots rely on the rookie running back. The rookie is actually the base of their offense.

Sony Michel is the synonym for rookie power

Michel had nine carries for 43 yards and a nine-yard catch, and the first quarter was not even over yet. Let’s not forget that the running back has two scores. He had the first on the opening drive as he punched the touchdown from one yard out. The second score was actually an impressive run in which Michel dived for the pylon on the 14-yard TD.

“Yeah, well, I mean, he’s a good back. He’s a good player, runs well, takes care of the ball, he’s tough, he’s got good playing strength, runs through some arm tackles. He’s still got a lot to learn, still a lot of things that he can work on, but he’s a tough kid, he’s smart, he works hard, he’s out there every day, so he keeps getting better. That’s a good thing,” head coach Bill Belichick said of Sony.

“I think each player’s different, each situation’s different. I don’t know if there’s one set standard. We have guys on our team at that position that didn’t play at all as rookies that have been very productive and good players for us. Other guys played as rookies and played less as it went along. So, I don’t know. Just keep grinding it out day by day, week by week and see where it goes. Just take it one day at a time.”

“That’s the goal, trying to get better each and every week. Because sometimes there are good performances, sometimes they’re bad. Sometimes you just have to be consistent at it, try to have more good than bad,” Michel said of his game with the Patriots.
