Malcolm Mitchell Makes Emotional Statement About Patriots After Filing Injury Grievance Against Them

Wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell filed injury grievance against the New England Patriots, but that did not stop him from expressing his support for his former team.

Malcolm took to his Twitter account to give his love for the Patriots. That injury grievance has nothing on the way he feels about his former teammates. According to the receiver, New England will always have a special place in his heart.

“The New England Patriots. That’s the name of one of my guardian angels. I’ll love them forever,” Malcolm tweeted.

Malcolm wrote his tweet in the midst of the injury grievance he filed against New England in September. The Patriots released the 25-year-old player in August without any injury designation, and did not get any of the $630,000 salary for 2018. That’s why Mitchell decided to seek full recoupment.

New England, thank you! My heart hurts, but I smile when thinking about all the love, support and patience you have given me. To the community this is not goodbye, it’s I’ll see you later. Go Pats!” Malcolm Mitchell in his Instagram post in August.

It seems like New England was tired of waiting for the receiver to recover from his injury. Mitchell had a knee surgery and missed his 2017 season. The discomfort bugged him for too long, and the player was also limited throughout camp.

This was Mitchell’s third knee injury. He tore his ACL in 2013, and had to deal with another knee injury that put him under the knife the following year. Mitchell has had 10 injuries and suffered all of them on the field.

The player had a huge role in the Patriots Super Bowl LI win over the Atlanta Falcons as he caught five balls for 63 yards.

It is definitely great that he does not feel bad for the team.
