LeBron James: Kevin Durant Fired Warning Over Potential Lakers Move

Kevin Durant is one of the may stars to be linked with the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James.

However, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith believes that this could be the worst thing Durant could do, and he will still remain in the shadow of King James. Durant will enter free agency at the end of the regular season, and many say that he will leave the Golden State. He played three seasons with the Warriors, and may earn a third win. The Warriors are favorites to win the championship again, and they cemented themselves in the first seed in the conference on Sunday night.

Durant may be successful in the Golden State, but fans are actually saying that it’s Steph Curry’s team. Losing Stephen Curry equals nightmare, so that says pretty much everything. Durant will probably head to New Yourk, but he may also meet with Magic Johnson. The Los Angeles Lakers are still in a desperate need of another star.

Smith explained that if Durant goes to LA, he will have the same problems as he has in the Golden State.

“I think Kevin Durant and LeBron James could deliver championships,” he said. “I’m saying it would be the worst thing for Kevin Durant. Why would you be leaving Golden State? Because you want to lead your own franchise and have your own name, reputation. He gave that up when he went to Golden State from Oklahoma City. The belief is that he wants to leave Golden State to create his own path, [because Golden State] is and forever will be Steph Curry’s territory. He [Curry] is the Derek Jeter of the Golden State area, and he’s the equivalent of Alex Rodriguez. As good as he may be, he will never be Steph Curry, the Alex Rodriguez to Derek Jeter. If you’re going to leave from there, why go to a similar situation in L.A.?”

Well, let’s see if Durant fits well in Los Angeles. He may be a good fit, but that scenario may not be the best he can hope for. Let’s see what happens next in the Golden State.
