Chase Winovich is on a good way to become a fan favorite before he even gets a chance to hit the field alongside Tom Brady and the rest of the team.

Winovich couldn’t control his emotions when the Patriots selected him with the 77^th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. He delivered a huge message to the Patriots nation, and everyone is so excited to see him take a position on the field. Winovich was born to be a football player. A Patriot.

Winovich appeared on Amazon’s “All or Nothing: The Michigan Wolverines,” and fans were left in shock. Is Winovich a passionate player? You can bet he is. Yes, we are talking about the man who once ate a live fish.

“So yeah, I once ate a live fish,” he said. “I was a really, really young kid. I think I was in like fifth or sixth grade and I was real into Bear Grylls at the time. Twenty dollars at that point in my life was a lot of money, so I did it. I think today I would have made a little more than 20 dollars. At the end of the day, I ate it and I’m never going to eat one again but I crossed that one off the list of things I’ve done in my life for sure.

“I coughed it up and the blood was pretty bad tasting you could say. I did get the 20 dollars though so it was at least worth that I guess. The value of a dollar, I definitely learned it in that moment.”

The best part comes when you realize that Winovich is one of the best players New England could ever get. He is well aware of that.

“I like to think of myself as kind of a junkyard dog, just tenacious, relentless effort and motor, just scrapping for every inch,” Winovich said of his skills. “But at the same time, I like to think I’m slippery here – as they say in Pittsburgh, ‘slippy.’ I think I bring some versatility and I think my combine was an example of some of the speed that I have, and when you factor all of that in together, I think that makes me a pretty interesting pick and prospect and football player in general. At the end of the day, I’m just trying to go out there, prove my worth to the other guys on the team and ultimately to the rest of the world.
