Report: Major Details Emerge On Robert Kraft’s Spa Case

Patriots owner Robert Kraft hasn’t appeared in court as his legal team has sought to get the spa video tossed. The motion to suppress hearing went for 15 hours over three days. The biggest decision Palm Beach County Judge Leonard Hanser brought was that the Patriots owner will have to appear in court on May 21 for the hearing.

Before the hearing, the judge will rule on the legality of the “sneak and peek” warrant Jupiter police officers used to initiate their surveillance operation. The police managed to install cameras during a fake bomb scare. Kraft’s legal team and prosecutors will have to file written submissions before the judge brings the final decision.

“I’m going to consider his case, and conduct his case the way I would anybody else’s case,” the judge revealed.

Kraft’s attorney, William Burck, said the warrant was “beyond repair” and even called into question the experience of the lead detective on the investigation. According to him, the warrant lacks instructions on minimizing covert surveillance over five days in January at the day spa.

“Detective (Andrew) Sharp has no idea what experience means,” Burck said. “That became very clear.”

Jupiter Police Officer Scott Kimbark testified about the flow of the operation  in which police officers stopped vehicles of customers leaving the spa who reportedly had been observed via covert surveillance cameras engaging into sex acts.

Kimbark pulled over the Patriots owner after the first of his two visits in January without even knowing who he was.

“Mr. Kraft was very engaging,” Kimbark said. “He knew he was just involved in something and I wanted to make sure he wasn’t trying to line the dots up himself. He asked me if I was a Dolphins fan. He told me he was the owner of the New England Patriots.”

The Patriots owner has already offered an apology for the scandal. He wrote, “I am truly sorry. I know I have hurt and disappointed my family, my close friends, my co-workers, our fans and many others who rightfully hold me to a higher standard. Throughout my life, I have always tried to do the right thing. The last thing I would ever want to do is disrespect another human being. I have extraordinary respect for women; my morals and my soul were shaped by the most wonderful woman, the love of my life, who I was blessed to have as my partner for 50 years.”
